The Office Of Civil Rights Loves "Group" Complaints

It takes a lot to get the OCR to investigate an individual case. They prefer cases where "classes " of people are effected, or where there is a pattern that is identifiable.

There is a written record of the William Wieser case (Death By Education) and there is a written record of the Doug Erwin case. There is the Birdsall case. They each tell the story of what happens to an HCPS employee when they run afoul of the system.

Those three known cases would be a good base for the start of identifying a group. How many more are out there?

Perhaps there are people who know who these people are, and maybe they would be willing to come forward as a member of a group that was "bit by the hand that feeds them".

And remember to document, document, document:

PRO on HCPS: Search results for elephant:

"If an elephant came into the IEP meeting, dropped a load right in the middle of the table, no one could ever prove it if it wasn't written in the IEP form or the conference notes. Even when there are teachers, ESE specialists, related service personnel, principals, directors and parents that see the elephant, moved their papers out of the way of the big dump, and smelled the aroma that stunk up the whole room. If it wasn't written, it didn't happen.'"

Who knows what will happen?

By letting the Alafia problem fester, the district has created a monster that may be difficult to tame.

Will ALL of the complaints to state agencies go unanswered?

This house of cards may be ready to fall.....

Not sure how to interpret the above comment. While I am pretty good at reading between the lines and reading what is not said, I can't quite grasp this one.

What would be the definition of "all of the complaints to state agencies"?
