From The Tribune - Parents Level Criticisms At Alafia Principal At Meeting

Parents Level Criticisms At Alafia Principal At Meeting:

As always, the public comments add so much meaning (most of the times)

This one got my attention:

"Posted by ( cruzen ) on 11/21/2008 at 07:26 am.
I'm thrilled to know that my tax dollars are being wasted on, 'a 16-member school district assessment team to look into parents' concerns about Smith's leadership skills; Ippolito as Smith's coach/mentor, providing her with leadership training and the people skills she may be lacking; a team of education experts to assess Alafia; and the staff will receive five days of conflict resolution leadership training at Eckerd College, team-building exercises with an opportunity for parents to participate and professional ethics training.Where are the funds coming from to pay for all of this extra training? I don't even have kids in the public school system and my money is going to pay for all of this because parents don't like a principal?!? Just find a new principal and stop wasting taxpayer money."

Like minds think alike. While we all know that a school district has unlimited funds when it comes to defending itself, the public as a whole or as individuals do not.

Maybe that is why we would never see the course of events, playing out since last spring, in schools that don't have the public resources as does Alafia.
